The issue of innovation was in the past few years, a peculiar phenomenon of the European Union and individual Member States. The European Union has assigned high priority to innovation issues. The innovation is seen as the solution to current and future problems, as well as potential, an important element of building and maintaining competitive advantage and leadership role of the European Union in the world.
